Description
This coming-of-spring festival is for praying for rich harvest before the planting of seeds and seedlings, known as "Honen Kigan-sai". The dancers put 4m long colorful bamboo swords (shinai) on their back in the image of a pheonix and carry a drum on the chest to pound on while dancing.
