Description
It is said that this festival, celebrated by the Moriminashi Hachimangu Shrine, is said to have its roots in the traditional folk dance Dengaku of fuedal times that prayed for a rich harvest of rice. Young dancers known as "odoriko" put colorful "hanagasa" umbrellas on their head and perform the trademark of this festival, whose nickname is "Hanagasa Matsuri".
