Description
The "Jumping Frog" is a part of the Renge-e ceremony offering lotus flowers to the temple's main deity of Zao. Once the flower offering sermon settles, a large frog humbly appears in front of the master priest. The priest then gives a sermon that transforms this frog into a human by virtue of the Buddhist law. It is a reenactment of an ancient legend.
