Description
Regarded as one of Japan's rather obscure festivals, this sacred event shows two sides of a village separated by a vally compete at the shrine to decide which side grew the longer stemmed taro. It is told that they will enjoy a good harvest if the west wins, and a poor harvest if the east does.
