Description
The "Otaue Shinji" is listed as one of Niigata's Intangible Folk-Cultural Properties. Upon the hit of the drum, the planters pick up the rice seedlings and start to plant them while chanting. The top parishioner later shares the mochi that was offered to the deity of the shrine with the attendees and children.
