Description
The second most important festival next to the Tenno-sai. A massive reed torch is paraded by 50 firemen from the shrine's main office to the Torii by the east entrance to transfer the holy flame. From the old days, the remaining burning flame is believed to act as a protection against lightening, tooth aches, and insects in the rice fields and attracts many shrine goers.
