Description
The festival reaches its climax as parishioners in elegantly traditional Heian era outfits plant rice to the music of dengaku (farm chant), and young men perform "taketori-gyoji (racing through muddy rice fields competing to get to and lift a bamboo monument)", and "odorikomi (dancing through the field)".
