Description
Konjouin Temple is regarded as one of Kanto region's three most sacred places of spiritual practice, also known for its waterfall. Violent rituals such as yukaji (sitting in a pan filled with boiling water), hiwatari (walking barefoot on fire) and taimatsu (passing a lit torch through clothes) are performed at its annual fire festival.
